If your child needs to leave campus during the school day, they should bring a note to the teacher whose class they will be leaving. The note serves as their pass to be released and report to the front office to meet you.

Per Plano ISD policy, all absence excuse notes must be submitted to the attendance office within three school days of the absence.

If your child is absent, report the absence using one of the following methods:

Select Option 1, then Option 3, and provide:

• Student's name
• Student ID number
• Reason for the absence

A written note, email or parent/guardian request must be submitted within three days when reporting an absence by phone.

Family Access
Submit an absence request through Family Access. For approved absences, no additional written note is required.

If you are bringing an item for your child, please place it on the labeled bookshelf in the front foyer according to grade level. Front office staff do not deliver items to classrooms or send students notification that an item has been dropped off.

You may text your child during their lunch period to let them know an item is waiting for them.

If you need to leave lunch money for your child, please check in with the front office receptionist. The front office does not accept or handle cash.

If you know in advance that your child will be absent for an extended period, an Absence Request Form must be submitted at least one week in advance for administrative approval.

Please note that absences for travel or sporting events are considered unexcused, although students may be permitted to make up missed assignments in accordance with campus guidelines.
