The mission of the Centennial Elementary Library is to develop lifelong learners by creating a safe, encouraging, and empowering environment where students can collaborate and create, while offering high-quality lessons and resources that foster a love of reading, build information literacy, and prepare students for success in the 21st century.

Library Expectations
Library lessons support classroom learning and foster a love of reading. We work to create a safe, welcoming space for all scholars.
In the library, students are expected to:
• Respect others and the space
• Listen and follow directions the first time
• Take care of books and return them on time
Reading Challenges
Volunteering in the Centennial Library
Library volunteers will help keep the library organized and welcoming by shelving and straightening books, performing shelf reading, and bringing books to the front of the shelves. They will assist students by helping with check-outs, guiding them in looking up books in LS2, and helping them locate books on the shelves. Volunteers also support library maintenance and assist during Makerspace lessons and other student activities.
In addition, all library volunteers must have either attended the in-person training with Ms. McKee or reviewed all of the provided slides and completed the accompanying quiz on page 32 of the slideshow:
Two daily volunteer spots available:
- 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th
- 12:50 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. - 1st, 2nd, 5th
