Speech

Speech-language therapy may support students with:

• Speech sound production (articulation)
• Language development
• Expressive and receptive language skills
• Fluency (stuttering)
• Voice concerns
• Social communication skills
• Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), when appropriate

Speech-language services are provided as part of a student's special education program based on an evaluation and eligibility determination. Therapy may be provided individually, in small groups or within the classroom, depending on each student's needs and IEP.

Our speech-language pathologist collaborates with teachers, families and other specialists to help students strengthen communication skills that support success in school.

If you have concerns about your child's speech or language development, start by talking with your child's teacher. The campus team can discuss your concerns and explain the evaluation and referral process if additional support may be needed.
