Former Centennial Student Publishes First Adventure Novel

Centennial Elementary is proud to celebrate former student Sutton Lewis, now 14, who recently published his first middle-grade adventure novel, Legends Unearthed: The Hunt for Yamashita’s Gold.
Sutton spent two years in Centennial’s dyslexia program, where he developed skills, confidence and a love of learning that have continued to grow. Today, he is channeling his creativity and passion for history into his own writing.
Inspired by the real-life mystery surrounding a World War II general’s lost gold, Sutton’s novel follows four friends on a treasure-hunting adventure. He spent months researching the history behind the story and bringing his ideas to life.
Sutton hopes his journey will encourage other students with dyslexia to recognize their strengths, pursue their passions and believe in what they can accomplish.
